With respect to the handling of personal information by Oh-Ebashi LPC & Partners, its attorneys, and its overseas Shanghai Office (collectively, the “Group”), the Group handles the same in compliance with this Privacy Policy, the Japanese Act on Protection of Personal Information (the “APPI”) and other applicable laws and regulations.

Unless otherwise permitted by the APPI or other laws and regulations, the Group will not use personal information for any purpose other than such purposes without the consent of the subject thereof.

    • provision of legal services and related communication;
    • notification of lectures, seminars and the like;
    • sending of newsletters, greetings and the like;
    • public relations and marketing activities; and
    • any other activities incidental to the foregoing purposes of use (including sharing of information within the Group).
  2. (2)Personal information acquired in connection with lectures, seminars and the like:
    • notification of lectures, seminars and the like;
    • sending of newsletters, greetings and the like;
    • responding to inquiries;
    • public relations and marketing activities; and
    • any other activities incidental to the foregoing purposes of use (including sharing of information within the Group).
  3. (3)Personal information acquired in connection with recruitment of attorneys, staff, interns and the like:
    • administrative communication concerning the selection process and hiring;
    • responding to inquiries;
    • human resources management after hiring; and
    • any other activities incidental to the foregoing purposes of use (including sharing of information within the Group).

4. Provision of Personal Data to Third Parties

The Group will not provide personal data to any third party without the consent of the subject thereof unless otherwise stipulated in laws and regulations.

5. Shared Use of Personal Data

The Group will share the following personal data within the Group and with Hanling & Partners, with which the Group collaborates, to achieve the purposes of use listed in Section 3 above, but will not share such data beyond the necessary scope. The Group also takes appropriate measures to establish an information firewall with respect to information relating to legal services as necessary, whether or not such information is personal data.

6. Safe Management of Personal Data

The Group will appropriately manage the personal data by taking necessary and appropriate measures in order to protect any personal data from divulgence, loss, damage or the like. In addition, the Group will appropriately supervise its attorneys and staff with respect to the handling of personal data, and when the Group outsources the handling of personal data, it will supervise the contractor to ensure the contractor’s appropriate management of personal data. The Group will observe its internal rules with respect to the specific measures used for safe management of personal data.

7. Request for Notification of Purposes of Use, Disclosure, Correction, Cessation of Use, etc. Concerning Personal Data in the Group’s Possession

If the Group receives a request from the subject of personal data concerning disclosure, correction, addition or deletion, cessation of use or erasure, suspension of provision to third parties or notification of the purposes of use regarding the personal data in the Group’s possession, it will respond to such request in an appropriate manner in accordance with the APPI, as long as the person making the request is confirmed to be the subject of such personal data.

9. Amendment of this Privacy Policy

The Group may amend this Privacy Policy as necessary. In case of amendment of this Privacy Policy, the Group will announce the amendment through a posting on its website.
