Mediation is a common and established alternative dispute resolution around the globe. However, the procedure of and the approach to mediation by parties may vary significantly, reflecting differences in cultural background and the diverse contexts in which the mediation process occurs. In this seminar, the speakers will share their experiences representing Japanese client in mediation in and outside Japan and discuss the mediation system in Japan and the ongoing discussion plan of and establishing international mediation center in Kyoto will also be addressed by the speaker and panelists.
